AMD FSR 4 : Mode d’emploi complet pour optimiser vos jeux

FidelityFX Super Resolution
Rate this post

AMD’s 4th Generation FidelityFX Super Resolution image upscaling technology with frame generation is a very promising feature of the latest Radeon RX 9000-series, but its official support is limited to a number of games. However, modders have found a way to enable FSR 4 in any game that supports Nvidia’s DLSS2 or Intel’s XeSS.

What is OptiScaler?

OptiScaler is an app developed by modders that enables FSR 4 in games that support Intel’s XeSS and/or Nvidia DLSS2 or newer upscaling technologies. It also adds support for frame generation and anti-lag features, enhancing gaming performance in titles lacking these options officially.

For the time being, FSR 4 is exclusively compatible with AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards. Attempting to enable FSR 4 on older RDNA 3-based graphics cards without the required hardware will not result in performance or quality improvements and may even cause stability issues.

Additional Features

Beyond upscaling, OptiScaler enables frame generation for games that do not natively support it. The program requires DirectX 12 and may require additional adjustments, such as HUD modifications. It can also integrate Nvidia Reflex technology to reduce latency, using methods like FakeNvapi to enable Anti-Lag 2 or LatencyFlex support.

The modder known as High Yield has provided a guide on how to enable FSR 4 in Cyberpunk 2077, optimizing performance in a demanding modern game. Since the developer of Cyberpunk 2077 does not plan to add support for FSR 3.1 and FSR 4, OptiScaler remains the only tool to introduce this technology to the game.

It is important to note that OptiScaler is not officially supported by AMD, Intel, or Nvidia, and FSR 4 support is considered experimental, which may lead to bugs, stability issues, and quality artifacts.
