Apple to Stop Selling iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone SE in the EU

Apple has announced that it will no longer sell the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone SE in the EU. These devices will be taken off the shelves of Apple’s online and offline stores by December 28, in order to comply with an EU regulation requiring smartphones with wired charging to use USB-C.

Impact on EU Markets

Apple Authorized Retailers in the EU will be allowed to sell their remaining inventory of these iPhones until depletion. This move affects not only the iPhones but also other products featuring the Lightning port, like the Magic Keyboard without Touch ID.

Timeline for Removal

Interestingly, Apple will also discontinue these products in Northern Ireland, despite it being part of the UK. In Switzerland, the iPhones will be removed even earlier, by December 20, for the same regulatory compliance reasons.

Future Plans for iPhone SE

The iPhone SE is expected to be replaced by a newer model next year, making the removal of these devices less impactful. If Apple had followed its usual schedule, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus would have been discontinued in the EU markets by next September.
