Dell lance un kit de conversion de carte mère pour les PC de jeu Alienware

Enhance Your Alienware Gaming PC with Third-Party Motherboard Compatibility
Dell is giving some of its Alienware gaming PCs additional flexibility by enabling compatibility with third-party motherboards. The flagship Alienware Area-51 gaming desktop now has a new AlienFX board cable conversion kit available for purchase on Dell’s online store for $34.99. This kit allows users to swap out the built-in motherboard with a third-party ATX or Micro-ATX motherboard.
The Kit Components
The kit includes a 4-pin power switch wiring cable, fan power bridge wiring cable, USB dongle extension, and a bag of nuts. The power switch wiring cable connects to the Area-51’s power button, while the fan power bridge wiring cable provides compatibility with the rear fan controller. The USB dongle extension converts the USB 3.0 front panel internal plug for improved compatibility, and the extra nuts allow for Micro-ATX motherboard support.
Third-Party Compatibility
While the kit provides the necessary hardware for third-party motherboards from various manufacturers, Dell does not officially support these configurations and cannot guarantee compatibility. Issues may arise with internal port selection, fan ports, and power supply compatibility.
Advantages of Aftermarket Compatibility
Dell’s decision to support aftermarket motherboards offers users the flexibility to customize their system with additional I/O ports, M.2 slots, DIMM slots, or a more robust power delivery system for overclocking. This allows users to extend the lifespan of their Alienware PC beyond its original hardware specifications and potentially save on replacement costs.
