Google prévoit d’étendre les capacités de son IA Gemini aux applications de Samsung.
Google extends Gemini’s capabilities to Samsung apps
Managing Samsung Apps with Gemini
Google is expanding Gemini’s functionalities to include third-party apps, starting with Samsung apps. While Gemini is now the default AI assistant on Android, its integration with third-party apps has been limited until now. Google has recently added Spotify and WhatsApp as the first third-party apps to be integrated with Gemini. However, users of Samsung Galaxy devices have been unable to fully utilize Gemini with their device-specific apps, such as the Reminder app.
The latest beta version of the Google app suggests that Samsung’s Reminder app may soon support Gemini. The code snippets found in the beta version hint at a broader integration of Gemini with popular services and apps from Samsung, beyond just the Reminder app. Currently, Gemini supports Google’s Calendar and Tasks apps through the Google Workspace and utilities extensions, but users of Samsung devices have been unable to manage tasks through Gemini when using the Reminder app. While Bixby can be used as an alternative, its functionalities are not as extensive as those of Gemini.
How Gemini could work with Samsung apps
If Samsung’s Reminder app gains support for Gemini, users may be able to create and manage reminders through voice commands or manual input. The full extent of Gemini’s integration with Samsung apps is yet to be revealed. However, based on the clues found in the beta version of the Google app, it is likely that other Samsung apps will also receive Gemini support in the future. Although there is no official announcement regarding the timeline for this integration, the presence of code strings related to it indicates that it may happen soon.
